Albert Einstein father of Modern Physics. His insight into the working of the natural world greatly altered scientific thinking. His theories also led to the start of the nuclear age and research into how to use the energy availabe inside the atom.
Galileo

Father of modern experimental science. His studies of forces, motion and astronomy started experimental science as opposed to the philosophical arguements used since the time of Aristotle and the Golden Age in Greece. His work reinforced the work of Kepler and Copernicus and helped establish the foundation for Isaac Newton's Three Laws of Motion and Universal Gravitation.
