III. Announcements
· On Thursday, March 11, at 5:30 p.m., there will be a SEL Evening Event at Cuba High School. Complimentary dinner will be served from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The Mayor Doug Schmidt of Cuba will be the guest speaker. Family and student activities will be held at 6:00-6:20 and 7:00-7:20 p.m. respectively. This event is the kick-off/celebration for the SEL upcoming community beautification project on Friday, April 23.

· Seniors need to bring in pictures, quotes, and future plans for the Senior Slide Show to Jenna Falk.
· Attention 7th and 8th grade basketball players! Please return your uniforms immediately or there will be consequences.
· The North Fulton Girls’ Basketball program is excited to announce that we will be hosting shooting camps for the 4th thru 12th grades June 9th and 10th, 2010 at Valley High School. THE CHUTE Shooting Camp will conduct each session and each day’s session will be three hours in length. Any player in grade school, Jr. high, or high school eligible for this camp who is currently playing or plans on playing in the future is strongly advised to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Forms for the camp will be available at Valley High School by contacting Craig Davis, Dave Freeman, or Nick Guthrie, or at Cuba schools by contacting Mr. Toshio VanMiddlesworth. Forms must be returned to these coaches along with a $20 deposit or payment in full by March 28th, 2010.
- The 4th – 8th grade sessions will run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
- The 9th-12th grade sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day.
· All kids not doing a spring sport can lift on all Tuesdays and Thursdays at Cuba directly after school until 4:30 p.m. with Coach Craig or Coach Brewer starting March 2 until March 27.
· Conservation Ag – The weather test is on Friday, March 5. Students need to be ready for the test.
· The breakfast for Senior of the Month students sponsored by the High School Student Council will be Thursday, May 6th at the Bernadotte Café. Bus departure will be at 8 a.m.
· There will be a breakfast on Thursday, April 22 for Renaissance cardholders at 8:30 a.m. Prizes and savings bonds will be awarded to students that have at least a 4.25 GPA, a .5 grade improvement, or perfect attendance the previous semester.
· Meat Science team and State Poultry Science Team will be leaving at 6:30 a.m. for Champaign on Saturday, March 6.
· Middle School students should sign up with Mr. Falk for Livestock Judging, which will be held at Liberty on March 13.
· Congratulations to Agricultural Students Kasey Ratliff and Mahkayla Myers as they won their SAE areas and are going to District SAE Competition on Wednesday, March 17 at 1:30 p.m.
· A Book Fair has been scheduled with Scholastic Books to be held in the Millard Library on March 10-16. The Book Fair will be available to students, staff, parents and the community the night of the SEL Event on March 11 in addition to the school hours on March 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16.
· The North Fulton Winter Sports Banquet will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Cuba High School at 6:30 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided. The presentation of awards will be for High School Boys’ Basketball, High School Girls’ Basketball, High School Dance Force, and High School
Cheerleading. We look forward to seeing you Wednesday evening. Please return reservation forms by Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
· Save the Date! Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. will be a fundraiser for the Cuba Elementary at Linn Lanes Bowling Alley. It will be a 9pin tourney. Details are being worked out and will be announced as soon as the particulars are finalized. Please join and support the Cuba Elementary School!
· Congratulations to Katie Burgard as she was selected as the March Senior of the Month. Seniors are chosen on the following criteria: Self-management, responsibility, quality of work, high standards of attendance, honesty, energy, optimism, teamwork, and positive rules or values.

· The 2009-2010 Cuba High School Yearbooks are now on sale for $50 during the second semester of 2010. Order forms are available from Mrs. Postin.
· ATTENTION SENIORS: To meet with College Representatives, REMEMBER to SIGN-UP near Mrs. Williams’ door.
After school study hall is available every Wednesday in the library directly after school until 8 p.m. Tutoring is available for all students, grades 7-12.
Extra yearbooks can be purchased from Mrs. Postin for $45.00.
