The Cuba High School Student Council has nominated Katie Burgard as the March Senior of the Month.
Katie is the daughter of Michelle Blout of Cuba and Darrell Blout of Smithfield. Her current classes are P.E., Chemistry, English IV, Horticulture, Resource Management, Office Procedures, and is an office helper. During high school, Katie has been involved in Cheerleading, Student Council, FFA, SWAT/Peer Assistance, and Renaissance.
During her free time, she enjoys being with family, friends, her boyfriend, and being outdoors.
Katie plans to attend Spoon River College and transfer to Illinois Central College and receive her degree being a Physical Therapist Assistant.
The Cuba High School Student Council presents the senior of the month award each month. The student is judged on the following criteria: Self-management, responsibility, quality work, high standards of attendance, superior academic principles, honesty, energy, optimism, teamwork, and positive use of rules or values. Presenting a $100.00 Savings Bond to Katie Burgard is Dawn White from Mid-America National Bank.
