We are pleased to announce that for the 2025 annual release of the Illinois Interactive Report Card, all three schools in CUSD 3 Fulton County have earned a "Commendable" Summative Designation from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
What this designation means
Each year, ISBE publishes the Illinois Interactive Report Card, which presents comprehensive information about school and district performance across the state — including academic achievement, student growth, school environment, equity indicators, and finance. As part of that accountability framework, ISBE assigns schools and districts a Summative Designation based on multiple measures. This designation offers a clear reflection of how well a school or district is meeting the state’s expectations for educating all students, providing valuable insight for families, staff, and community stakeholders.
Why we are proud
Being designated "Commendable" reflects the collective efforts of our teachers, staff, students, families, and community partners. Some of the strengths that contributed to this recognition include:
Strong performance in foundational literacy and math skills across all grade levels
Consistent monitoring of student growth and achievement data to guide instruction
An inclusive and supportive learning environment that meets the needs of all learners
Robust engagement with families and the community to support student success
Strategic allocation of resources to maximize teaching and learning in every classroom
Important context: What changed in 2025
The 2025 Report Card includes several updates, including revised performance-level cut scores and proficiency benchmarks that better align with college and career readiness expectations. Proficiency rates in 2025 are not directly comparable to prior years due to these updates. While we celebrate our designation, our focus remains on continuous improvement rather than year-to-year comparisons.
What we’re doing next
Earning this designation is an important milestone, but not the end of our work. Our next steps include:
Reviewing detailed Report Card data to identify strengths and areas for growth
Enhancing professional development around evidence-based instructional practices
Strengthening student growth monitoring and intervention systems to support every learner
Deepening collaboration with families and the community to achieve our shared vision for student success
Updating our district strategic plan to reflect findings from the Report Card and guide continuous improvement
Thank you to our community
We extend our gratitude to our students for their dedication, our teachers and staff for their tireless efforts, our Board of Education for its leadership, and our families and community partners for their support. This designation is a shared achievement, and together we will continue to prepare every student for success in college, career, and life. #WINTHEDAY #MAKETODAYCOUNT
